Bagasse Acoustic Panel Research

Research into waste sugarcane fibre as a breathable acoustic lining material, developed through mixture testing, mould design, fabrication and performance testing.

Bagasse was combined with sodium silicate and tested for acoustic absorption, fire behaviour, moisture buffering, compression and thermal conductivity. The work also explored reuse of leftover material and the manufacturing sequence of completed prototypes.
